Join the FORCE Fenwick-Portal Stream Team to remove English ivy from trees in a beautiful section of Rock Creek in northwest DC.  This invasive vine grows up the trunks of trees into the canopy, weakening and eventually killing the tree.   Wear a hat and layers of warm clothing, sturdy boots, work gloves.  Bring your own hand pruners, saws, and loppers, if you have them, or borrow tools provided courtesy of the National Park Service.  Volunteers must be 16 or older to use park tools.  Kids can stay busy picking up trash.  Meet near the  Kalmia Street Bridge at intersection of East Beach & Portal Rds NW.   Snow date: Saturday, Jan. 22, same time.
