Give a gift of flowers that will bloom in Rock Creek Park year after year.

Three_Flowers_Rounded_Edge

Help us plant 4,500 daffodils in a barren spot along Rock Creek Parkway!  With your support, we will also plant 1,500 companion wildflowers--blue wild indigo and purple coneflower--to extend the bloom and color into the summer and fall and provide food for birds and wildlife.

The planting will restore and enhance a portion of Rock Creek Parkway’s historic landscape. The parkway, used for trips by 10 million vehicles a year, was designed for scenic carriage rides and is on the National Register of Historic Places. In the 1960s, Lady Bird Johnson spearheaded a beautification program for the capital region that included planting thousands of daffodils along Rock Creek Parkway.

With your support, Rock Creek Conservancy, in partnership with the National Park Service, will plant daffodils in a barren spot on Rock Creek Parkway just south of Pennsylvania Avenue.  The planting will take place in the fall of 2012.
