Environmental Education

Rock Creek Conservancy's Environmental Education program provides place based, hands-on educational opportunities for Pre K-12 students in the Rock Creek watershed and its tributaries. Currently our offerings include an interactive watershed model presentation for the classroom and a watershed educational hike for outdoor exploration. We work with private, public, charter, and home schooling groups.

If you are interested in having Rock Creek Conservancy work with your group, please fill out our EE Request Form, or contact Erica Carlsson, our Youth, Education, and Health Coordinator at

Youth Stream Teams

Rock Creek Conservancy encourages the formation of Youth Stream Teams to promote a healthy and sustainable watershed through a focus on natural areas, including sections of the creek and specific tributaries. Youth Stream Teams are invited to adopt an area to carry out a variety of outreach, conservation, education, and restoration activities. To become a youth stream team, you only need to coordinate at least two youth events during the year. Depending on availability, we may be able to provide leadership and facilitation for the first event that could include watershed education.

If you are excited about becoming a part of the program, please fill out our Youth Stream Guidelines and Leader Application and Youth Stream Team Event Request Form. You may also view Youth Stream Team Guidelines here.
