2016 MLK Weekend of Service Event - Peirce Mill Trash Cleanup - 1.18.2016

Join Rock Creek Conservancy, in partnership with Blue Planet Scuba and the National Park Service, as we celebrate the Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend of Service. Volunteers will be out at multiple sites from Saturday, January 16th to Monday, January 18th. Tools, gloves, bags and training will be provided at each site and SSL hours can be earned. 

Volunteer Activity: Volunteers will help clear trash from the Peirce Mill area of Rock Creek Park. 

When: Monday January 18th from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm. 

Where: Meet up in the parking lot across from Pierce Mill on Tilden Street right before it crosses Beach Drive and turns into Park Road. It’s about a 15-20 minute walk from the Cleveland Park Metro station. 

What to Wear: Please dress appropriately for the weather. It may be chilly so dress warmly and in layers. Wear sturdy boots or sneakers, no sandals. 

What to Bring: Bring water. Tools and gloves will be provided. Feel free to bring your own tools and gloves if you have them. Students can earn SSL hours, but please bring needed forms.
