CANCALLED due to extreme cold weather!
Join Rock Creek Conservancy, and the
National Park Service, as we celebrate the Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend of
Service. Volunteers will be out at multiple sites from Saturday, January 16th
to Monday, January 18th. Tools, gloves, bags and training will be provided at
each site and SSL hours can be earned.
Volunteer Activity: Volunteers will help remove invasive plant from the Melvin Hazen area of Rock Creek Park.
When: Monday January 18th from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm.
Where: Volunteers will meet at the intersection of Rodman Street NW and Quebec Place NW, Washington, D.C. 20008. This site is Metro accessible through the Cleveland Park Metro Stop (Red Line). Street parking is available along Rodman Street.
What to Wear: Please dress appropriately for the weather. It may be chilly so dress warmly and in layers. Wear sturdy boots or sneakers, no sandals.
What to Bring: Bring water. Tools and gloves will be provided. Feel free to bring your own tools and gloves if you have them. Students can earn SSL hours, but please bring needed forms.
