2016 MLK Weekend of Service Event - Pinehurst Branch Invasive Removal - 1.16.2016

Join Rock Creek Conservancy, the National Park Service, DC CWMA, and Montgomery Parks as we celebrate the Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend of Service. Volunteers will be out at multiple sites from Saturday, January 16th to Monday, January 18th. Tools, gloves, bags and training will be provided at each site and SSL hours can be earned. 

Volunteer Activity: Volunteers will help with an invasive species removal including vines and shrub like material in the Pinehurst Tributary of Rock Creek. 

When: Saturday January 16th from 1:00-4:00 

Where: Volunteers will meet at the basketball court along Beech Street NW, Washington, D.C. The closest physical address is 3245 Beech Street NW, Washington, D.C. Street parking is available along Beech Street. 

What to Wear: Please dress appropriately for the weather. It may be chilly so dress warmly and in layers. Wear sturdy boots or sneakers, no sandals. 

What to Bring: Bring water. Tools and gloves will be provided. Feel free to bring your own tools and gloves if you have them. Students can earn SSL hours, but please bring needed forms
