Join Rock Creek Conservancy, and the National Park Service, as we celebrate the Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend of Service. Volunteers will be out at multiple sites from Saturday, January 16th to Monday, January 18th. Tools, gloves, bags and training will be provided at each site and SSL hours can be earned. 


Volunteer Activity: Volunteers will help remove invasive English icy near the Mouth of Rock Creek by the Potomac River. 

When: Monday January 18th from 10:00 pm - 12:00 pm. 

Where: Volunteers will meet near the Thompson's Boat Center off of Rock Creek Parkway. A parking lot is available but may fill up. Street parking is available nearby in Georgetown and/or Foggy Bottom. 

What to Wear: Please dress appropriately for the weather. It may be chilly so dress warmly and in layers. Wear sturdy boots or sneakers, no sandals. 

What to Bring: Bring water. Tools and gloves will be provided. Feel free to bring your own tools and gloves if you have them. Students can earn SSL hours, but please bring needed forms.
