March 28, 2017 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

(Save to cal)

8005 Connecticut Ave, Chevy Chase, MD 20815, USA

Come learn about the benefits of native plants and rain gardens from the Rock Creek Conservancy.

What: Attend a short course (approximately 30 minutes) on the many benefits of native plants for local animals, stream health, and your wallet. Participants will leave with a better sense of what plants are native to this area, how they benefit our local environment, and the role a single garden can play in improving an entire ecosystem.

If you have a planting site you wish to fill with native plants, bring a site picture, description, and dimensions with you to the event and we can help you select the proper plants for your garden. Participants will be given a native plant or two to start their native plant garden.

Where: The workshop will take place at Chevy Chase Community Library located at 8005 Connecticut Ave, Chevy Chase, MD 20815. Arrive at the front desk and ask to be directed to the meeting room.

When: Tuesday, March 21, 2017 from 6:00 - 7:00 pm

What to bring: Please bring a pen and paper for taking notes, water, and any questions you may have.

Information and Contact: Please email volunteer@rockcreekconservancy.org with questions.

This workshop is funded by the Chesapeake Bay Trust and Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection.
