Rock Creek Conservancy is hiring 60 students from three DC high schools to join us this summer to restore Rock Creek.
What is RC3?
Rock Creek Conservation Corps, or "RC3," is a summer youth conservation program that helps protect and revitalize Rock Creek and its parklands while providing transformative experiences to youth and empowering non-traditional leaders in conservation to develop and sustain a culture of environmental stewardship for future generations. RC3's goal is to accomplish critical conservation work while learning about the Rock Creek watershed: the extensive physical environment as it extends from its source to the Chesapeake Bay, the effects of modern life on water quality, the relationship of the park to the community, and the importance of maintaining a healthy watershed.
When is RC3?
RC3 takes place July 2 - 27, 2018. Crew members work from 9 am - 3 pm, Monday - Friday. Crew members also complete a post-program outreach requirement in Fall 2018.
Applications are due on March 2nd.
Where is it?
RC3 crew members take on critical conservation projects throughout the Rock Creek watershed in Washington, D.C. and Montgomery County, MD. Some locations RC3 crews have worked in the past include Woodend Sanctuary and Carter Barron Amphitheater.
