THE MANY PARKS OF ROCK CREEK

Rock Creek has many parks throughout D.C. and Maryland. We’ve highlighted three of them.

meridian hill park

Meridian Hill Park, also known as Malcolm X Park, is an urban park in Washington, D.C., located in the Meridian Hill neighborhood that straddles the border between Adams Morgan and Columbia Heights. The park is 11.88 acres and is bounded by 15th, 16th, W, and Euclid Streets NW.

Meridian Hill Park is known for its fountain with cascading water, which was turned back on earlier this year.

Bryce park

Bryce Park is a public urban triangle park, and a small National Park Service neighborhood reservation located at the busy intersection of Massachusetts and Wisconsin Avenues in Washington, D.C.

At the time of establishment of the Washington, D.C., Bryce Park was mixed woodland and agricultural land in Montgomery County, Maryland.

The Conservancy is partnered with the Friends of Bryce Park, a community volunteer group dedicated to restoring and maintaining Bryce Park.

Woodland-Normanstone Terrace Park

Woodland-Normanstone Terrace Park is a quiet, small green space located at 3100 Massachusetts Avenue NW in Washington, D.C.

Hidden in the park is the Kahlil Gibran Memorial Garden, which includes a bronze sculpture of the Lebanese-American writer, poet and visual artist Kahlil Gibran, sculpted by Gordon Kray. The garden also has fountains.
