We have water quality monitoring sites throughout Washington DC, and Montgomery County. One site that is frequently tested is Boundary Bridge. These sites are regularly tested by water quality monitors around the area to measure the health of Rock Creek. At this time, water quality is poor and therefore it is not safe for humans or dogs to enter the water.

Question 4:

Go for a hike on one of the many official hiking and biking trails throughout the Rock Creek watershed.

Answer 4:

The Rock Creek watershed includes portions of Montgomery County and DC, so there are many places to explore! Rock Creek Park offers many areas to hike and bike safely and securely. Some hiking trails include the Boulder Bridge Loop, the Valley Trail, and the Boundary Bridge, which meets at the border of DC and Maryland. The park is known for the scenic Beach Drive biking trail, which is now closed to cars and open to the public!
