Water Quality Monitoring
Rock Creek’s streams are vital to the health of the watershed, but stormwater runoff, carrying bacteria and chemical pollution, as well as illicit discharge and leaky pipes impact water quality. The first step to helping Rock Creek is deepening our understanding of the conditions in the creek and its tributaries.
Rock Creek Conservancy’s water quality monitoring programs train and engage volunteers to collect data that helps assess stream conditions, tracking change over time across the Rock Creek watershed. This information supports public health guidance, restoration planning, and long-term stewardship.
